Sorry for the lack of posts lately. We haven’t been up to much around here.
Right now, I need some advice.
Let me set the stage…
Last Sunday during singing time in Primary, Ashley passed out and had (what looked like) a seizure. It’s never happened before and hasn’t happened since. After several tests, and a referral to a neurologist… here’s my problem.
The neurologist wants to do a test on Ashley that monitors her brain functions while she’s waking up. She doesn’t have to stay at the hospital or anything, that would be too easy.
Instead the neurologist told us to keep her awake till midnight and then wake her up at 4:00 in the morning, and keep her awake till test time at 8:15!
So, does anyone know how the heck I’m supposed to keep her awake for 4 hours, when she’s only had 4 hours of sleep? Especially during the 40 minute drive to the hospital? Oh yeah, and she’s not allowed to eat any sugary stuff either.
Thanks!
Yikes Rachelle. That is wierd. I hope that everything turns out ok. Play games? That’s hard. I’m sorry! Let me know if we can help somehow!
Oh I’m so sorry that isso scary i had no idea..My advice would be to hve someone sit in the car wit her to keep ker occupied..Please let me know how i can help, that is very scary..I’m so sorry.
We hope that Ashley is okay and the tests will all come back normal. I can only think of a new movie that she hasn’t seen or buying a new nintendo game, etc. something like that. As mom’s we’re always trying to figure out ways to get them to sleep (car & plane rides come to mind since I’ve recently dealth with that). Pinching might work…. jk
When is your appointment? I sure hope everything will be okay for Ashely. As far as staying awake? Well, chewing gum, eating, listening to “get up and get going” music while singing and dancing? Oh, go on an early morning adventure with flashlights outside…. beats me!
