Here’s part one for this weeks Monday Moments.
Why yes, most of my girls are feeling just fine now. Thanks for asking!
Ashley’s 4th grade class has to do a book report each month (ugh). Thankfully it’s not the same old thing each time. One time, the book report was in scrapbook form. Another time she had to do a mobile, another time was a “Wanted” poster.
This time the book had to be a biography and the theme for the report was “wax museum”! The kids got to pick a person and dress up like them! Ashley didn’t want to do anything that anyone else was doing (Cleopatra, Amilea Earheart, an ice skater, Queen Elizabeth), no instead she went for someone that I didn’t know much about.
Any guess who she picked?
Well, technically, she didn’t choose royalty, but in a way she did.
She was Abigail Adams! Wife to the second president of the USA and mother to the 6th president of the USA!
Maybe you didn’t recognize her in her french fashion.
When I asked Ashley what she wanted her costume to look like, she said she wanted a fancy gown like Abigail wore when she lived in France. When did Abigail live in France you ask!?! Well, near the end of the Revolutionary War her husband was sent as an ambassador to France to get help and she went with him. So there you go, maybe you learned something new today!
Surprisingly I had all of the fabric and pattern already in my fabric stash, so all I needed to buy was the lace trims!
Ashley wouldn’t let me powder her hair.
If Abigail looked anything like Ashley, she would have been a cutie!
Part 2 will hopefully come in the next day or 2.
Wow, sis, beautiful job on the dress!!!
Love the costume! What a great choice for a biography and to learn some American History as well. Ashley’s beautiful and growing up fast! She looks so elegant, love her hair.
Love it, GREAT JOB!!!!Hope everyone gets feeling better real soon.
