Paul works for an awesome company called Datamark.  Don’t ask me what they do, all I know is it has something to do with higher education.

The company does several things each year, some with just the employees (talent shows!) and some with the employees families (like Halloween!)  I guess at the beginning of each year they do a prom night for employees and their partners.

We were told that some people go so far as to wear tuxedos and floor length gowns, but some people just wear slacks or skirts.  Since Paul is being considered for the CTO position, I told him to ask the CEO and President what they were going to wear and their wives as well.  They were both going to wear tuxedos, so Paul actually bought one!  The CEO said his wife was going to buy a “new gown” for the prom, so I took that to mean a nice floor length prom dress.  Well, I wore a floor length prom dress, but the CEO’s wife just wore a long dress, a fancy, pretty dress, but definitely not a prom style.  Most people just wore nice “church” clothes, so I kinda stuck out.

Here’s what I wore…

Not as poofy as it could have been.  There were a few (3) other women there with floor length gowns, and I admit, I got used to being all dressed up!

My hair!  (Yes Christie, those are the flowers you made for my girls.)

And now for the shoes!!!  I got these at Ross, $21, kinda pricey for shoes, to me, but the original price tag said $89!!!  They’re Steve Madden shoes, I don’t know who that is, but from what I’ve heard, I guess his shoes are really good.

And last but not least, my handsome hubby!

They even hired a photographer to set up a backdrop and take pictures of couples.  Just like prom!  I’ll post a picture of that once we get it.  Although, I’m sure I was making a funny face, so I might not.

Happy Monday!

  1. How fun–I’d love to get dressed up again someday! You look beautiful, and that is a nice tux Paul bought! You both look great!

  2. Fun! You look beautiful and I love the shoes!
