Today is Chinese New Year!
The only reason I know that is because Eden is in her Chinese class at school. They did a program for it on the 1st, but today is the actual New Year.
Eden slept for 15 hours straight on Monday, took it really really easy on Tuesday and was able to preform in the program that evening! She’s doing much better even though her eardrum ruptured.
Since it’s tradition for the Chinese to wear new clothing on New Year Day, I decided to make Eden her own Chinese dress.
She got so many compliments! And she loved every minute of it!
Eden and one of her bestest friends.
Eden’s pointing to the dragon she made. Can you tell it’s wearing jewelry? (a bow, a necklace, a bracelet and a ring)
This is her Chinese teacher, Ms. Tan.
A local boy scout troop performed a dragon dance.
She got on stage (isn’t she so cute!?!)
Here’s the 1st graders’ dragon.
And of course she wanted a picture with the principal since he dressed up too.
So glad she’s feeling better. You can tell she was still recovering since she has dark circles under her eyes. But she had a blast and loved it! Someday soon I’ll get a video of her singing some Chinese songs, and maybe even one of her and Paul having a conversation.
新年快乐!
That is so cool! What a fun thing for Eden! Her dress really is SO adorable–good job!
How fun to see all those pictures. Jessie informs me it’s the year of the Rabbit – which she thinks is so cool, since she has a bunny. What a beautiful dress you made – you are so talented. Love your VD decorations!
