Well, this is only a small reason as to why I haven’t been blogging.  But this small reason is actually a super huge headache!

Here it is!

Last Wednesday Ashley came to me in my office and said there must be a problem with our ceiling.  She didn’t say why she thought that, but I knew whatever it was wasn’t going to be good.

Our ceiling was dripping water onto our couch!  I ran, got some buckets, put them on the couch and headed upstairs to find the carpet soaking wet.  Long story short, we’re about 99% certain it’s from the humidifier that turns on whenever our AC is on.

Paul called our house insurance and 2 guys came over that night and tore out all the wet stuff.  They were here till 11:30 that night!

With the headache that all this is, it’s nothing compared to what could have happened.  See those big gray blobs in the lower picture?  We thought that was insulation, there was enough of it up there, totally full!  Until one of the guys working on tearing out the sheet rock said it smelled like Downey!  The vent leading from our dryer to the outside had become detached and had filled between the floor and ceiling with lint!  One of the guys tearing out the sheet rock said that’s the worst fire hazard he’d seen in years, and he works for Sear cleaning out dyer vents!  He said it looked close to 20 years worth of lint was trapped in there.  But there was no way for anyone to know that was going on, so it’s a GREAT thing that we got a leak!  Right!?!

They moved in 6 large and very muchly extremely noisy fans.  Seriously, you couldn’t hear the person next to you talking unless they were less than a foot from you, almost yelling.

So that’s one of the reasons I haven’t been blogging recently.  But only one reason.  The rest of the excuses I have can wait for another day.

So to leave you on a happy note… about 2 weeks ago, all 3 of my girls decided they wanted bangs!  So here they are!  Be nice, I trimmed them myself.

  1. Your girls look great and that is SO crappy! I’m sorry, but good for you looking at the bright side!

  2. Your girl’s fringes look great! Jessie just got a fringe as well! Sorry to hear about your house.

  3. Ca-UTE bangs!

And I’m so sorry about the leaky mess. Sounds like it was a blessing in disguise at least. We have had to of our ward members lose their homes to housefires, and it has been no fun to see them go through it!
