More Yellowstone

Day 3

More bison = really slow moving cars

I tried a free hand timed exposure.

I don’t remember the name of this waterfall, sorry.

We’re way up high in this next picture.  Can you see the people down on the boardwalk?

The girls did really well on the hike!

Day 4

(Paul’s mad that I wouldn’t hand over the camera so he could take a picture of me.)

Yellowstone Lake.

We wanted to go to the beach area we had visited a couple of years ago, but they had the beach area closed because of a bear sighting.

(still mad)

Since Yellowstone Lake is so huge, we drove around and found a beach area that was open.

Ashley went “digging for treasure” and actually found a dime!

After observing the bison, I think they actually enjoy holding up traffic.

And here’s the picture you saw a couple of Mondays ago.  No, we didn’t get a pool, I wish.  But we did swim lots and lots while at the hotel.

Outside the hotel restaurant they had this large standing teddybear.  The girls just loved it!

Pucker up buttercup!

Two days left to post!

Happy Independence Day all you Americans out there!

More of the Yellowstone pictures are on their way, along with some awesome family reunion pictures!

We had a wonderful time in Yellowstone!  The weather was nice and cool, not too cold, not too hot.  We saw cool amazing things and lots of bison.

Day 1

We left on a Friday, mid morning and took our time driving to Yellowstone.  Stopped for lunch.

We were only about 30 minutes from our hotel and I wanted to keep driving so we could just get there already.  You know, driving for 5 hours can do that to you.  But when I saw this river, I just had to stop.

We walked around and took pictures.

Ashley’s a little shutterbug.  I’ll be doing a post with pictures that she took later on.

That was a nice little rest from sitting.

We got back in the car, got to the hotel in West Yellowstone (which isn’t actually in Yellowstone, but it’s only maybe 1/2 mile from it), ate dinner and went to bed!

Day 2

(ready for tons of pictures!?!)

Even though this is day 2, it was our first day in Yellowstone National Park!

We saw so many bison!

And elk!

The stinky, but beautiful, area.

This is what Eden did most of the time (pictured below).  And I agree with her!

Just looking at this picture brings back memories of the first time we took Ashley to Yellowstone.  I had been to Yellowstone several times growing up, but that first trip with Ashley was the first time I went while pregnant.  I highly advise against going while pregnant!!!  For all the mud pots, artist pots, geysers, and springs we went to, I had to sit in the car while Paul and Ashley walked around.  I just couldn’t handle the smell while pregnant.

Proof I was there.

Okay, same picture just different treatment.  Which do you like better, the one above or the one below?

Old Faithful!

West Yellowstone had all these bison around the town painted with different scenes from the park.

And that’s our first 2 days!

I’ll eventually get through the other 4 days we were there, not counting the day we left.
