We had a wonderful time in Yellowstone! The weather was nice and cool, not too cold, not too hot. We saw cool amazing things and lots of bison.
Day 1
We left on a Friday, mid morning and took our time driving to Yellowstone. Stopped for lunch.
We were only about 30 minutes from our hotel and I wanted to keep driving so we could just get there already. You know, driving for 5 hours can do that to you. But when I saw this river, I just had to stop.
We walked around and took pictures.
Ashley’s a little shutterbug. I’ll be doing a post with pictures that she took later on.
That was a nice little rest from sitting.
We got back in the car, got to the hotel in West Yellowstone (which isn’t actually in Yellowstone, but it’s only maybe 1/2 mile from it), ate dinner and went to bed!
Day 2
(ready for tons of pictures!?!)
Even though this is day 2, it was our first day in Yellowstone National Park!
We saw so many bison!
And elk!
The stinky, but beautiful, area.
This is what Eden did most of the time (pictured below). And I agree with her!
Just looking at this picture brings back memories of the first time we took Ashley to Yellowstone. I had been to Yellowstone several times growing up, but that first trip with Ashley was the first time I went while pregnant. I highly advise against going while pregnant!!! For all the mud pots, artist pots, geysers, and springs we went to, I had to sit in the car while Paul and Ashley walked around. I just couldn’t handle the smell while pregnant.
Proof I was there.
Okay, same picture just different treatment. Which do you like better, the one above or the one below?
Old Faithful!
West Yellowstone had all these bison around the town painted with different scenes from the park.
And that’s our first 2 days!
I’ll eventually get through the other 4 days we were there, not counting the day we left.
It is really hard to pick which of the 2 root pictures I like better – they both have so much character! If I had to have only 1 I would probably go with the black and white, but it’s a really close call.
Such great pictures. I’m looking forward to seeing them all. I like the top, with the color, but they are both amazing.
So fun and beautiful pictures!
Also, I like the one with color on the tree:). Oh yes, and we didn’t see one herd of buffalo, just a lot of lone males. We were amazed, since last time we saw a bunch of herds. Interesting! I LOVE the pics of the ospray on one of the other posts. We saw one dive and that was super awesome. I was driving though, so no picture :(.
